A video-cam survey of a delapidated hotel-cum-nightclub in a Niger provincial town,
shown on a small monitor, halts at a portrait of the owner, whose initial cheer dwindles
as the camera stays focused on his face.
In the backdrop a series of slides on the wall project a perspective study
of two adjacent tennis courts -one in ruins, the other newly renovated-
under a tropical sky, while two thin linear neons complete the installation
on the opposite wall, casting a pink-and-green glow in the white-cube space,
to enhance the effect of nostalgia for late-sixties minimalist art.
